About Pastor Ken
A shepherd’s heart for people — and for pastors.
For 33 years, Ken Whitten served as senior pastor of Idlewild Baptist Church in Tampa, Florida. Today he serves as National Director of Pastoral Leadership at the North American Mission Board, coming alongside pastors across the Southern Baptist Convention as a friend and fellow servant.
His goal is simple: to strengthen ministry leaders in every stage and season, break down the barriers of comparison between churches of every size, and help pastors and their congregations grow toward health and vitality.
“Ken is humble, intentional and he loves pastors. Every pastor could use a friend like Ken, and that’s how he will lead in this effort — as a friend and a fellow servant.”
“Ken Whitten has an incredible heart for pastors and churches. He has faithfully invested in other pastors throughout his ministry. Ken has the heart of a shepherd who cares for others.”
Encouragement, delivered.
